Q. What is in MightyGrow Live!?
A. MightyGrow Live! is an organic, all-purpose fertilizer with the bonus of beneficial microbes and trace minerals. It is manufactured from raw poultry litter, which is a mix of poultry manure and bedding material removed from the houses where chickens are raised. That bedding material includes saw dust (most common), pine bark, and/or rice hulls.

Q. How is the poultry litter transformed into MightyGrow Live!?
A. The raw litter is screened, then blended with our proprietary mixture, which includes beneficial micro-organisms and trace minerals. The material is then held in an anaerobic environment until the nutrients in the raw fertilizer are converted to stable, organic soil nutrients with low odor.

Q. How, exactly, is MightyGrow Live! fertilizer an organic fertilizer?
A. MightyGrow Live! fertilizer may be used by farmers who market their crops and livestock as certified organic. Since MightyGrow Live! fertilizer is made from a natural source, raw chicken litter, plus additions of minerals and other natural items, it is organic by definition. Further, MightyGrow Live! is processed in accordance with the National Organic Program guidelines for safe, pathogen-free manure-based fertilizers. RAW poultry litter has some very bad drawbacks that are overcome by the MightyGrow process.

Q. Since MightyGrow Live! fertilizer is made from chicken manure, won’t the major drawback be that it will stink really BAD for a really long time?
A. Our special process turns the ammonia molecule (NH3) into a stable, low odor nitrate nitrogen that is essentially an amino acid – no ammonia = low to no odor!

Q. Since MightyGrow Live! fertilizer is made from chicken manure, won’t it burn plants?
A. Our proprietary process turns the ammonia molecule (NH3) in the raw litter into a stable, non-water soluble nitrogen molecule (NO3) – no ammonia = no chemical burn!

Q. Since MightyGrow Live! fertilizer is made from chicken manure, is it safe to use around bodies of water? In fact, aren’t there lawsuits pending in states like Oklahoma where run-off from raw poultry litter has polluted the water?
A. Raw poultry litter can pollute surface and ground water, as evidenced by environmental problems that have occurred in areas of concentrated poultry production, such as Oklahoma or on the DelMar Virginia Peninsula around Chesapeake Bay. MightyGrow Live! is NOT raw, but has actually been processed into a stable, environmentally friendly organic fertilizer. When used according to directions, there is NO water pollution. Our process converts the water soluble nutrients into a stable, organic fertilizer that stays IN the soil – no ammonia = no pollution even if it runs off into bodies of water!

Q. Since MightyGrow Live! fertilizer is made from chicken manure, won’t it contain the pathogenic bacteria like e-coli and salmonella?
A. Our proprietary process biologically eliminates any pathogenic bacteria!

Q. Are the ingredients in MightyGrow Live! slow-release or fast-release?
A. The Nitrogen in poultry litter is normally a combination of fast released ammonia and slow-release nitrates. Our process converts virtually all the nitrogen into a slow-release form of nitrogen that is immediately plant available. MightyGrow Live!is ready to go to work as soon as it hits the ground!

Q. How does MightyGrow Live! differ from other poultry manure-based fertilizers?
A. MightyGrow is superior to other products in several ways:

1. Some poultry litter based fertilizers are composted, and that lowers the nutrients in the fertilizer and can release greenhouse gases.
   
2. Other manufactures pelletize their fertilizer using extremely high heat, which sterilizes the fertilizer but does not convert the ammonia into a stable form. It can produce a product with very strong odor as well as considerable dust.
   
3. MightyGrow Live! is the only fertilizer in the world that is anaerobically digested to conserve the nutrients in the base material. We use biology to eliminate pathogenic bacteria rather than high heat or pressure for that purpose. And our beneficial micro-organisms will build the life in your soil.

Q. How does MightyGrow Live! fertilizer differ from other organic fertilizers?
A. First, our fertilizer is made primarily from chicken manure, a waste product of the massive poultry growing industry. Most organic fertilizers are manufactured from either plant meals (cottonseed meal, soybean meal, etc.) or animal parts (blood, bone, feathers, or meat meal). We mix in our proprietary “special sauce” containing a specially selected, naturally existing group of biologically active microbes, natural trace minerals, lime (if specially requested), and other mineral elements as enhancements. No other organic fertilizer has demonstrated the same effectiveness as MightyGrow Live! fertilizer.

Q. Why does MightyGrow Live! fertilizer have the word “Live” in it?
A. Synthetic fertilizers are comprised of assorted chemicals, and are “dead” products. Most other organic fertilizers are heated to a high temperature to kill the e-coli and salmonella pathogens. This extremely high temperature also kills other live elements that are actually beneficial. MightyGrow Live!, however, uses biological microbes to eliminate the bad guys while preserving the good guys, who actively improve soil health.

Q. I can use synthetic fertilizers with a nitrogen (N) content of 16, 20 or more. Doesn’t the 4-5-5 N-P-K (nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium) content of MightyGrow Live! fertilizer offer much less nitrogen to be utilized by my lawn and garden?
A. No. This is a very common misunderstanding that is being overcome as the public becomes more aware of the hidden drawbacks to conventional fertilizer usage. The nitrogen in MightyGrow Live! fertilizer feeds the soil microbiology directly and the soil microbes naturally stimulate plant growth in a healthy manner. Synthetic fertilizers feed the plant directly, often to the detriment of soil health. Further, the higher nitrogen content in synthetic fertilizers starts evaporating when the bag is opened and continues leaching out of the soil as soon as it rains. University studies all agree that synthetic nitrogen can suffer up to a 60% loss due to evaporation or leaching. The lack of any appreciable nitrogen leaching is a primary benefit to using organic fertilizers like MightyGrow Live!.

Q. Will I have to increase the amount of MightyGrow Live! fertilizer over time the way I do with my synthetic fertilizer?
A. No. The quantity of MightyGrow Live! fertilizer needed will actually decrease over time because it builds the nutrient levels in the soil. When you use synthetic fertilizers, it’s like putting your lawn or garden on drugs because synthetics break down and leach out nutrients in the soil. This creates an addiction, requiring more and more to be used to get comparable results.

Q. Does MightyGrow Live! fertilizer have filler content such as clay, pebbles, sand, weed seeds, and/or dried sewage solids that are in ALL synthetic fertilizers?
A. No. Chicken manure is…well…chicken poop, and the wood shaving beds “decaked” from poultry houses. Our special process turns the wood into a natural carbon-based organic ingredient, plus we add minerals and/or carbon containing materials like humates and other micro-biological elements. Every bag of MightyGrow Live! contains almost 30% PURE CARBON, which feeds and builds your soil.

A. No. MightyGrow Live! fertilizer only has to be applied twice a year. Q. With only two applications needed each year with MightyGrow Live! fertilizer, I might forget when to do my MightyGrow Live! fertilizer application. Is there any convenient system I can set up to remind myself?
A. You can use a home computer program such as Microsoft Outlook to set up a reminder several months out. However, MightyGrow can send you a reminder via email when it’s time to put down your next application if you will provide your email address. In the interim, MightyGrow will periodically send out lawn care, flowerbed care, shrub care, tree care and gardening tips (including how to prepare raised gardens, and who to call if you want help to get one or more set up).

Q. Does MightyGrow Live! fertilizer work well into the raised gardens too?

Q. Most fertilizers used on lawns come with strict “off limits” warnings after application. Do you have to wait up to a day to use treated areas after applying MightyGrow Live!?
A. No. MightyGrow Live! is safe and natural, and won’t harm people, plants, or pets.

Q. Do you have to wait up to a day after mowing the lawn before applying MightyGrow Live! fertilizer like you do when you apply most synthetic and organic fertilizers?
A. No. MightyGrow Live! fertilizer can be applied immediately after mowing.

Q. If I use MightyGrow Live! fertilizer, can I use my mower to bag my lawn clippings?
A. Yes, but it is recommended that you mulch your clippings to add additional carbon sources to your soil. If you do use your mower to bag your clippings, make sure that your MightyGrow Live! fertilizer is applied AFTER you mow so as not to be vacuumed up into the bagged clippings. If you have already applied MightyGrow Live! fertilizer, make sure that it well watered into the lawn before mowing to minimize loss in the bagging process.

Q. Are carbon deposits in the soil important?
A. Great question - this directly targets the reason NOT to use synthetic fertilizers! Your soil has the soil and/or sand component, minerals, glycoprotiens, waxes, resins, sugars, carbohydrates, amino acids, organic compounds, fulvic acids, humic acids, and humin. Fulvic acids and humics acids are the primary nutrient providers in the soil that contain all the nutrients for almost every plant to reach its full genetic growth potential. Humin is an almost dormant carbon source that decomposes into fulvic and humic acids. Now, we’ve all heard that nature abhors a vacuum – that exists for your soil too. Carbon and nitrogen always interact naturally in the soil, and the exacerbation of adding synthetic (not natural) nitrogen causes a rapid jump in the number of bacteria that consume the fulvic and humic carbon acids (again, they contain all the plant nutrients) at an unnatural rate. This decomposition causes the release of greenhouse gases into the environment – nitrogen along with methane and (now, either correct or not) carbon dioxide. Thus, there is an imbalance in the natural carbon – nitrogen ratio. Further, this imbalance causes the soil to now be more susceptible to soil erosion since it will no longer effectively work as a water reservoir for plants. In short, the soil becomes a harder, less permeable mass that is harder to work, is also less aerated, and loses its thermal blanket properties. In summary, carbon acids are king for soil nutrition, and the proper amount of natural slow- release nitrogen is crucial. MightyGrow Live! fertilizer fills this requirement – synthetic fertilizers do not. Are there any questions about this dissertation?

Q. What happens to MightyGrow Live! once it breaks down in the soil?
A. MightyGrow Live! breaks down into humus, a stable form of organic matter in the soil.

Humus refers to any organic matter that has reached a point of stability, where it will break down no further and might, if conditions do not change, remain essentially as it is for centuries, if not millennia. In agriculture, humus is sometimes also used to describe mature compost, or natural compost extracted from a forest or other spontaneous source for use to amend soil.

Q. Does a 40 pound bag of MightyGrow Live! fertilizer weigh more than a 40 pound bag of synthetic or other organic fertilizer?
A. No. And, your question, well ……., really stinks!
